Architecture . Venice Gate
Venice Gate is the project of the surrounding areas of the new highway tunnel of Mestre (Venice, Italy). The projects intends to make possible to exit from the traditional use of the highways: highway=toll=uncertain cashflows and negation of the social function.
Venice Gate is based on the sinergy of three basic elements: freetime, mobility and commercial activities. The best advantage of this scheme lies on the value of the relationship between nature and infrastructure, creating new oportunities for these unused spaces.
The proposal borns as the result of a some kind of artificial orography, based on different layers that plays with the dynamic movement of the highways, creating an artifical landscape in combination with the natural elements. In that way we provide natural spaces, protected from the visual and noise contamination of the highways by the buildings.
