Personal Practice - interior design and project management.

The clients are a mature couple, that bought many years ago a large apartment (four sleeping-room, three bathrooms and three balconies) to have enough space for them and their children.
Nowadays, they live alone, so they decided to adapt the apartment in order to enjoy the new situation: less sleeping rooms, more light, wider spaces, ...

One of the sleeping rooms becomes the dressing space, another one becomes the office.
The previous small dressing space is combined with a small bathroom in order to make a new bathroom organized in three spaces: personal care, toilette and shower.
The toilette and shower spaces are linked by a red ribbon of italian mosaic that ends with light, creating a soft atmosphere emphasized by the milky glass. The glass remains transparent at the bottom in order to play with the concepts of hide/show/provocation/sensuality.
The old smallest bathroom, at the hall, is the perfect candidate for a wardrobe; painting in red the old tiles with a special product, we change the perception of the space, forgiving the old use. The corridor is divided in two parts with a sliding door, making more evident the difference between public/private space.
The walls and doors are only decorated in the private part of the corridor, creating a sense of landscape and surprise, playing with contrast between it and the calmness and whiteness of the rooms.
One of the balconies is used to enlarge the living room. Other one becomes the cozy reading corner.
As a resume, the project is focused on "cleaning the space", but having some winks of colour and decoration as a chef puts on its recipes.
